The Chruch of St. Nicholas

This church is another relic of the times of the Principality. The church is the oldest in town. Its foundation dates back to the 13th century. It's thick walls and tiny narrow windows evince that it could have been used as a fortress. The church was built in the form of a Greek cross with a round aspe. None of the ancient frescos have survived and it's current paintings are from 1955-1957. Some sources say the church was built as a burial vault for the Halychyna princes.
